And now there are 3

Every time someone enquires about the new baby, the follow-up question is how the twins are coping with his arrival.

I've heard horror stories.

Someone I knew stuck stamps all over her younger sibling and wanted the postman to take him away.

My nephew asked their helper to put his then baby sister into the washing machine.

A friend of mine, her daughter won't even look at her because there is a new baby in the house.

And the list goes on.

Thankfully the twins haven't done anything or said anything negative about Muffin. They've been protective, they tell me to feed him when he cries. They shush him and make comforting noises, mimicking me and telling him 'it's ok'. They tell everyone that Muffin is their baby. They don't let me leave him at anyone else's house.

Of course, they clamour more for my attention. They want me to carry them, sometimes both of them, at the same time, making me wish I had bionic strength. They want me to get them to bed and cuddle them. All of which, I indulge because I do miss them.

But I'm also proud of them because they are taking on the roles of elder siblings as well as can be expected of not yet 3 year olds and they seem to genuinely love Muffin.
