I don't blog much about Muffin even though he's the one I spend most of my time with. Primarily because he lives up to being a newborn. He doesn't do much more than eat, shit and sleep. And in truth, I am very thankful for that.
But there have been instances that need to be remembered.
Strangest moment: We get out of the car at the drop off point and before I can take 5 steps, an old lady rushes up and puts an 'ang pow' into Muffin's sleeping arms. I am stunned. I stop short. I stare at the lady. She stops, stares at Muffin, looks at another Mom who happens to be walking up to the pick up point with her baby and then rapidly back peddles, snatches the 'ang pow' from Muffin and repeats the whole thing with the other baby.
I am dumbfounded.
Someone once said that if you ran out of anything to say to a new mom, just ask about the baby's poo. That would guarantee conversation. So, in the spirit of that...
Most glorious poo moment: I am cleaning up his poop and lift his legs to examine if I got everything. All of a sudden, I see his anus pucker and I duck! Thankfully so or I would have really gotten an eyeful of shit.
Most glorious puke moment: He tries to burp. He tries too hard and milk is regurgitated, right into my shirt, into my bra, in between my boobs.
Strangest habit: Before he falls asleep, just as he is about to, he gives a loud "the world has wronged me" cry. And then he drops off to sleep.
Cutest habit: Grinning his big toothless grin when he gets put down on the changing table for a change.
Most annoying habit: Having to be carried to sleep in the early hours of the morning.
Way in which he resembles Evan: He looks like his brother, almost a clone of Evan.
Way in which he resembles Jordan: He hates the bottle and when he has decided that he doesn't want to be cooperative and take it, he makes vomitting sounds like Jordan does. To date, it hasn't succeeded in bringing up any milk yet but I'm sure if he does take after her, it's just a matter of time.
