I didn't have very much time. I was in between feeding the Muffin.
But the twins wanted to play and I wasn't going to miss an opportunity to play with them especially now when Evan knows how to tug at the heartstrings and go "Mommy, play with me, PLEASE!"
I'd kept a whole big bag full of wrapping paper from Christmas. I use the white side of it for them to scrawl on. They pulled out the bag yesterday and started shredding some of the wrapping paper. I did not learn till recently that tearing paper seems to be a developmental milestone as well. Anyway, in the midst of all the ripping, shredding and tearing, Jordan holds up a particularly big piece of paper and puts it against herself and announces that it's her dress. That of course sets Evan up to want the same thing.
So, with some scotch tape, I roll Jordan up in a piece of paper and tape it around her. She is thrilled to bits at her dress that looks a bit ethnic. What ethnicity, I really don't know. To add some flourish to it, I fashion a hat for her; if you look very closely, you can still see the gift tags attached to the paper. Her hat looks a bit like it came out of Harry Potter but she is thrilled to bits and I cannot stop grinning.
Evan decides just before I was going to fit him with his 'dress' that he didn't want one. He did want a hat. He picked a red one and told us that he was Santa Claus.
Of course, after a while, the hats fell off and Jordan felt that the dress was impeding her movement. She'd made a bridge out of four stools and wanted to climb it. So the dress got abandoned too, into a sad, ripped, crumpled heap.
I had to go back to feed Muffin again but the ripping, shredding, tearing and squealing continued for a little while more and we couldn't see the floor after that. I don't think our helper was much amused!

I've been reading this blog and I must say "Bravo!" to your opened eyes in seeing an opportunity for time and play with the twins. I pray I'll also see what you saw in the future with my daughter when the younger ones appear. =)
